The Melbourne Marathon is done for another year. You crossed the line at the MCG, got the medal, and probably had a beer you’d been thinking about since kilometre 30. Then Monday arrived: eight hours at a desk on Collins Street, and every set of stairs taken sideways. That’s the part of marathon recovery nobody plans for. The training plan…
The AFL Grand Final is this Saturday. The jacarandas are starting to open along Bourke Street. And somewhere between the two, a lot of Melbourne blokes pull their running shoes out from under the bed for the first time since June. Our team sees this pattern every year. The first warm September weeks arrive, motivation spikes, and then, about a…
It’s finals month across Melbourne, and not just at the MCG. Legs a bit heavy, lungs working, but good.…
For five weeks you set an alarm for stupid o’clock. The 2026 World Cup was played across the United States, Canada and Mexico, which meant most of the good stuff landed somewhere between 5am and breakfast, Melbourne time. You watched it in the dark with a coffee. You told yourself you’d forgotten how much you loved this game. Then the…

It peaks every winter, when desk hours stretch, movement drops off, and cold commutes add their own load on top. Most people sit on it until it becomes bad enough to interfere…
