B.App.Sci (Clinical Sciences), M.H.SC (Osteopathy)
Dr. James Shanahan graduated with a Masters of Osteopathy from Victoria University before moving to the UK. He worked across two multidisciplinary clinics in central London, treating a wide variety of patients and gaining valuable experience from a number of highly skilled senior Osteopaths.
While in the UK, James was involved with AFL Europe, as part of their match day medical team, and as Head Osteopath at Old Paulines Rugby Club in the Surrey League. This helped broaden his experience with acute and chronic sports injuries and rehabilitation, an area of interest he is still passionate about.
Outside of specific sporting injuries, James focuses on providing the best possible care for patients across all demographics, helping them return to, and exceed, previous levels of function. He uses a structural approach to tailor patient-specific management plans designed not only to alleviate pain but also to get to the root cause of the problem.
Outside of Osteopathy James enjoys a variety of exercise and social activities, particularly playing football with Caulfield Grammarians Football Club in the VAFA.
